The Commonwealth Club World Affairs Presents

SPARKING SOLUTIONS TOGETHER

November 7, 2025 | 9:00am - 6:00pm | The Commonwealth Club, San Francisco

Join us for our milestone convening focused on community-based solutions to advance AAPI youth mental health.

For too long, AANHPI youth have been left out of the national mental health conversation. Harmful stereotypes have masked the reality:

  • Suicide is the leading cause of death among AANHPI youth ages 15-24
  • Nearly 1 in 2 screen positive for moderate depression
  • 1 in 3 have planned or attempted suicide
  • Stigma, family pressure, and silence keep many from seeking help

Informed by TAAF's 2024 Beyond the Surface report, the summit will:

  • Spotlight community-led solutions to the AAPI youth mental health crisis
  • Foster partnerships to break stigma and expand culturally-relevant care
  • Elevate AAPI stories rooted in lived experience to deepen understanding and drive change

Our goal is simple yet urgent: to move beyond awareness and dialogue toward Sparking Solutions Together.

Topics at a Glance

  • Beyond the Surface: Stories Beneath the Numbers
  • Community Spotlights: Six Breakthrough Strategies
  • Scaling Youth Mental Health Support in Schools
  • Healing Through Creative Collage, Expressive Writing, and Intergenerational Conversations
